Mental health counseling is a confidential process that can assist student-athletes in understanding how to cope with their daily stresses and demands, and enhance their overall quality of life. Emotional well-being plays a key role in contributing to a student-athlete's success in their sport, in the classroom, and in their social and family life. If you are unsure or would like to learn more about how counseling might help, we encourage you to come in for an intake where you will have the opportunity to sit down with one of our therapists.
Common student-athlete issues:
- Managing pressure from coaches/teammates/family
- Performance anxiety
- Coping with injury
- Body image issues/eating concerns
- Life after sports
- Loss of motivation
- Substance use
- Navigating press and social media
