Start From Now! Body Image Group

"Though no one can go back and make a new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new end."-Carl Bard

College can be one of the most stressful times in a person's life. When stressed, we often turn to dangerous habits that can be hard to break. Disordered eating and eating disorders are frequently the outcomes of our stress. We invite any individuals who struggle with food or body image to attend our group.

The EKU Psychology Department and the Counseling Center are conducting a semester-long processing and psychoeducational group to assist those who are experiencing challenges with food or body image.

What to expect from the group:,
This support group will consist of emotion processing and psychoeducation. Session topics include (but are not limited to):

  • recognizing eating triggers and eliminating negative eating environments
  • body image and perfectionism
  • mindfulness and mindful eating, media and body image empowerment
  • establishing healthy relationships
  • exercise science
  • identifying coping skills to address disordered eating behaviors.

This group meets Thursdays 9:30am-11am  Whitlock Bldg Room 567
