Outreach and Community Intervention

Return to Faculty & Staff

What is outreach?

Outreach is about increasing college student mental health awareness through prevention, awareness, education, and stigma reduction.  Through outreach, EKUCC staff and Mental Health Peer Advocate students (MHPA's) are able to connect with the larger EKU community.

Outreach topics provided but not limited to:

  • Stress Management
  • Meditation and Relaxation Techniques
  • Counseling Center Services
  • Suicide Prevention (QPR)
Additional outreach topics are available upon request
If you have a request for an outreach presentation or program, please complete the following online request form:
•EKUCC Outreach Request Form

We recommend that you make outreach requests as far in advance as possible (we recommend minimum of 2 weeks notice). We cannot guarentee that requests made with little advanced notice will be completed, but we will try our best to accommodate your request. If your scheduled presenter should become sick or unavailable the day of the presentation, we will contact you to reschedule your presentation for another date at your convenience.  Please see our Events page for outreaches and/or workshops that the Counseling Center is offering for the university community.
